Nursery is Coming Together!

John and I put together the baby furniture before we left for Dallas on Friday. We put the hutch on top of the dresser/changing table combo on Thursday night. We finished the crib on Sunday when we returned on Sunday. I just had to put the crib stuff in as soon as we finished putting it together. It is finally coming together. All I need to do now is maybe some painting, adding the wall hangings and putting the wall decorations around the room. John did a great job putting the furniture together. Here are a few pictures I got of him putting it together whenever I didn't
have to hold something else.

This is the dresser with the cute lamp on it.

This is the finished product of the hutch and dresser/changing table combo. Isn't it beautiful.

This is the crib with the new bedding. I LOVE THE MONKEYS AND THE LIGHT GREEN!!! I hope I can find some paint to match that pretty green.

How cute is this rug???

Dallas Trip

This past weekend John and I traveled to Dallas to attend his cousin's wedding. Of course I forgot to take the camera to the wedding, but I did get some pictures of Connor (John's nephew) playing outside his house before we went. He LOVES being outside.

Weekend with the Grandparents

John and I went to the lake this past weekend. We should have never been on the road, but thanks to me and my persistence, we went anyway. The rain storm was so bad, John had to drive 45 to 50 mph almost the whole way there. It usually takes us about 2 1/2 hours, but this time it took 3 1/2. It seemed like the longest trip of my life. I just had to see my parents and grandparents. We stopped to see my Dad's mom and dad first. They were so excited to see us. As soon as we got there, they took us out for ice cream. Yum! Yum! We spent Friday night with them and visited until Saturday about 11. We then continued on the lake house which is only about 35 miles from there. We met Mom and Dad at the lake for the weekend, along with my Mom's Parents, Aunt Cindy, Cousin Nikki and her little girl Paisley. I had so much fun seeing everyone. It has been since Thanksgiving since I had last seen my grandparents. They both seem to be doing great. The lake is up a lot since last time, but we didn't get in. Mom, Dad and Great Grandpa went trotlining for catfish and we ended up having a great catfish fry Saturday night. Here are a few pics John and I took at the lake and one of Granny and Paw Paw V. at our wedding.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures at the house. I completely forgot.

John took this picture of me as the sun was setting. It was so beautiful!

It's A BOY!!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I went to the doctor today to find out the gender of the baby. The sonogram technician knew what it was in about 15 seconds. It's a BOY!! John and I are so excited! Our main concern was that the baby was healthy and had all its fingers and toes. He was kicking up a storm! Thank goodness I can't feel it yet. Here are a few of the sonogram pictures.

16 Weeks and 3 Days!

John's NEW Friend!

John was outside watering the front yard tonight and told me to grab the camera. I asked, "What do you need the camera for?" He said, "I want to take a picture of this frog." I said, "okay, whatever babe." I just thought I would share the pictures that John took of his NEW Friend, the frog, in the mulch of the tree.

Hope you enjoy the frog as much as John did!!

Happy Mother's Day To ME!!!!

John came home on Wednesday and said I have to go to Houston. I'll be back in about an hour and a half. I said, "Where do you think you're going?" He replied, "No where." I hopped in the truck with him, after a little persuading, and off we went. On the way, I convinced him to tell me where we were going. He was taking me to Best Buy. Now what would a girl want from Best Buy I thought. I was thinking really hard and all of sudden, it came to me. I was getting one of those computer things. I couldn't remember the name of it, but I had heard about it many times. Yes, I got an iPad for Mother's Day and I'm not even technically a mother yet.

This is what it looks like. I have already had to charge it 3 times since Wednesday and its battery lasts for 10 hours at a time. I love it!!

On the other hand, John and I have bought our first baby item. John did a lot of research on Consumer Reports and of course found the #1 rated car seat. All I had to do was say, "okay, sounds good to me." He's going to be a great dad. He is already really protective of this little one. The colors are great because they are gender neutral and we will be able to use it again. Here is new daddy putting the stroller/car seat together.

Check out those colors!

Daddy putting the wheels on. Make sure they're on tight! I don't want my baby to get hurt.

Me and my stroller. It is very light weight and easy to maneuver.

Headed to the grandparents this next weekend. Staying with one set one night and then on to the lake with the other ones. My mom and dad are also going to be at the lake house this next weekend. I can't wait to see everyone. It's been a long time.

Work Aholic

John and I have been work aholics in the yard. (Okay, just John) My doctor won't let me work in the garden anymore. Too many pesticides she says. Here are a couple of pictures of John hard at work in the front yard re-doing my flower beds for me. All we need now are gutters and automatic sprinklers. That is on the next list. Maybe we will get to those before the baby comes. Who knows???

John clearing out the edge for the rocks. I think he mentioned this was his best side. (haha!)

Didnt' he do a FABULOUS job???
